Causes: Arts & Culture, Music
Mission: Founded in 2008 by a team of artists, educators and entrepreneurs, in partnership with acclaimed music venue World Cafe Live, LiveConnections is dedicated to connecting all kinds of people through all kinds of music. LiveConnections programs cross boundaries and encourage listeners to move beyond what music they are familiar with, what instruments belong together, what music should be heard where. Through its Bridge Sessions for youth, its ClassicAlive! events and its new live-streaming initiative Collaborative Connections, LiveConnections seeks to spark learning that’s hands-on and alive and engagement with music across generations and backgrounds.
Programs: Bridge Sessions are interactive performances that bring together musicians with students and special needs populations for explorations of music and cultures. ClassicAlive! breaks the boundaries of how classical music is experienced — from repertoire to collaboration to atmosphere. Collaborative Connections, our new simulcast initiative, is designed to connect new audiences—particularly those unable to travel to the venue—to exceptional music programming.
