Without the Foundation for Homeless Cats, I would have had no guidance on how to control the ferals I inherited when I moved into my home 12 years ago. No one was doing TNR and the animals were getting out of control. They live in the trailer park behind me and would come over the wall and I noticed a few of them reproducing multiple times. I was able to find two members of FFHC who introduced me to TNR. What a God send. I then met Carla, another God send. Now my colony is under control and if I need to act, I know how and what to do. Thanks FFHC. Without you there would be many homeless animals in terrible situations.
Foundation for Homeless Cats has been wonderful! Always has information you need on
who, what, where, why! We do neighborhood awareness of the cats and how to best handle the feral and their surroundings. When I first met Carla I had 27 cats. Carla jumped on this right away and helped me get them all TNR and now after 3yrs I am happy to report that since then there has been no kittens! I could go on and on of what this organization has done for me and others. This is the best organization for helping and educating everyone on these poor guys that due to humans have been left out there to fen for for themselves and they are not to blame. We will continue to be there voice! Thanks to Carla and all the work she does we are able to continue our mission!
The Foundation for Homeless Cats has been an incredible help and a great resource for me. I have learned so much from them; things I needed to learn about and things I didn't know that I knew nothing about. They are knowledgeable and extremely supportive. I was new to TNR and didn't really know where to turn, but found all the information I needed through them. I give thanks to them and all they do.
Carla has been great in getting people together on local issues with feral cats. She also has a broader vision for improvements in how animals are cared for in our shelter system and how best to get programs setup in conjunction with new laws. She looks at the big picture and is very solution-oriented.
The Foundation for Homeless Cats thru' its leadership and volunteers is helping to change the community's attitude toward feral and free-roaming cats. This nonprofit is worth every $$ that can be donated and every minute a volunteer can give of their time. Ear-tipped spayed & neutered kitties = no more homeless kittens!
The Foundation for Homeless Cats run by Carla Mewell, sorry, Carla Jewell, is truly an inspiration and a great resource for cat lovers. Carla has 14 feral cat colonies that she manages. If that weren't enough, she hosts a Facebook page for this Foundation, as well as moderates a listserv for it. She can be found giving lectures on Trap/Neuter and Return anywhere in the Phoenix area. She is a tireless supporter of our feral felines and knows the legal aspects of helping them. A feral feline couldn't have a better friend than this big-hearted person and I hope she gets the attention that this Foundation and her efforts deserve.
The Foundation for Feral Cats has been a great resource for me. Everything you need to know from advocating for feral cats to Trap, Neuter, Return is available. I have found the group to be very compassionate and ready to help.
My experience with The Foundation for Homeless Cats has changed my life. I have always been an animal lover/rescue supporter. I had no idea there are so many homeless cats that need help. The Foundation has served countless hours educating and training not only in public forums but on the street. The continued service of this group stops reproduction of thousands of cats by trapping and having them spayed/neutered then they are fed and cared for by this group. The cats they help are not pets but it is amazing to me how the cats go to their food bowl when they need medical help. The volunteers of this group use their time and spend thousands of dollars of their personal money for medical care and food.
The Foundation for Homeless cats has brought the feral cat community together, provided assistance for caregivers, and spayed and neutered countless cats over the years. President Carla Jewel is an outstanding leader in the feral cat community. In addition, the Foundation provides much needed education about free-roaming cats. I recommend this organization for recognition of the highest order. Than you.
I cannot say enough on how they have helped me not only getting a stray female in my neighborhood get fixed but are now helping me coordinate rounding up very young cats that are stray on the property where I work and while we are running into obstacles with HR are actively working to educate my company on why this program is much needed in our neighborhoods and how we can put an end to overpopulation by TNR it's a win win for everyone. I run into people everyday telling me about the strays in their neighborhood and I connect them to this amazing organization to get help. One volunteer is helping address another issue with a reported cat killer and abuser who I heard a woman at a thrift store talking about so they go above and beyond just trapping and fixing cats. The education they give to the public and business is crucial and life saving for these poor helpless cats that continue to be abandoned by their thoughtless heartless owners when they move or just get plain tired of taking care of them.
